Are you able to recognize the difference between phishing and legitimate emails or texts? After successfully NOT clicking on the continuous PayPal scams over the years and more recently the pay your toll text messages, I thought I was an expert on knowing what was legitimate. After taking the phishing quiz , I realized there was more to these scams than just an incorrect URL. My email has been involved in 5 data breaches where my information was vulnerable and could have been exposed....

Have you ever googled yourself? For some this may be a difficult task if your last name is "Smith" but for others (like me) there is no place to hide on google. The results that pop up are actually all somehow related to me or my social media presence. Initially, you see an image of my LinkedIn profile, an image from my local newspaper about my 8th grade basketball team, and some more pictures related to posts I have interacted with on LinkedIn. Google has also found my Facebook and Instagram profiles although they are private profiles. LinkedIn's whole purpose revolves around public profiles. Connecting and interacting with people in a more professional setting that is tailored towards our professional life means that we want people to be able to find us on this platform. My LinkedIn profile was created as an assignment in college and I have not updated it since. However, my buisness world friends are constantly updating their profile and looking to make "good"...

Students engagement, willingness to ask questions, participation, and overall liveness was evident.  Over the summer, I recently rediscovered Facebook. Facebook was m...

To be or not to be influenced....that is the question

Current Instagram Profile Picture CHEERS, FRIENDS, CHI, IOWA....these are the highlights that represent who I am on instagram. Within these 4 bubbles, you will get a glimpse into my college life, where I have traveled, all the incredible drinks and food I have tried over the years, and the places and people that I hold close to my heart. What you don't see are the meals that have been sent back to the kitchen, the hours I have put into studying, or the classroom that I have spent the last 3 years occupying. I spend more time in my classroom during the school year than I do in my own apartment so why isn't it on my social media? The breakfast club poster that I stare at everyday, the reminder to "slow down, you're doing fine", and of course the pink disco ball next to the greatest female artist to walk this earth are no where to be found on my page. To say my social media is personal so that's why my classroom is not on it because it is "professional"...
